Meatballs and Sauce



1 lb of Gunzey's Hot Sausage (4 sausages) removed from the casing
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
5 cloves of garlic minced
2 cups of ricotta cheese
1 cup of parmesan cheese
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup fresh parsley chopped
2 teaspoons of dried Italian seasoning


1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes
1 (28 ounce) can of tomato sauce or two cans of crushed whatever you prefer
5 cloves of garlic minced
1 to 2 tablespoons of dried italian seasoning
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon of basil paste from a tube. You can find this in the produce section where the herbs are sold. I tend to add the basil paste to taste so you may need more



Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Form meatballs into the size shape ball that works best for you. I normally bake my meatballs at 350 until internal temp is 165 degrees. You could also fry them in olive oil until done.
