Meatballs and Sauce



  • 1 lb of Gunzey’s Hot Sausage (4 sausages) removed from the casing
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 5 cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 cups of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup of parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of dried italian seasoning


  • 1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (28 ounce) can of tomato sauce or two cans of crushed whatever you prefer
  • 5 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of dried italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of basil paste from a tube. you can find this in the produce section where the herbs are sold. i tend to add the basil paste to taste so you may need more



Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Form meatballs into the size shape ball that works best for you. I normally bake my meatballs at 350 until internal temp is 165 degrees. You could also fry them in olive oil until done.
